Regular school attendance is essential for a student to make the most of his or her education - to benefit from teacher led and school activities, to build each day's learning on the previous day's, and to grow as an individual.  Absences from class may result in serious disruption of a student's mastery of the instruction; therefore, a student and parent should make every effort to avoid unnecessary absences.

We do understand that some absences cannot be avoided, such as illness and extenuating circumstances.  When your student is not at school at our attendance time of 10:00 AM, they will be marked with an unexcused absence.  If we receive written correspondence (note or email), in regards to the student's absence, it will be changed to an excused absence.  If your child was gone during our 10 AM attendance period due to a medical appointment but returns to school with an excuse from the doctors office, in an attempt to receive instruction for the day, their absence will be changed to a medically excused absence.

To encourage good attendance and bell to bell instruction, we are promoting a new attendance incentive program for our students this school year called Present Pirates!  For every week that a student attends all five days of the school week on time,  they will receive a raffle ticket at the end of the week for them to put their name on and enter in the raffle prize of their choice.  Raffles will be done at the end of each semester.  Prizes this semester include: a Fire tablet, Echo Dot Kids Edition, scooters, board games, art sets, slime kits, walkie talkies and a hover soccer ball game.  It is our hope that this will help our students work towards good attendance for the entire school year!
