Superintendent Search Updates

London ISD Superintendent Dr. Judi Whitis announced her retirement during the February 27th Board of Trustees Workshop meeting and the London Board of Trustees approved a plan to ensure a smooth transition to a new superintendent by the Fall of 2024. At the Board’s request, Dr. Whitis has agreed to accept the position of Superintendent Emeritus early this summer to assist with fully onboarding and assisting a new superintendent. Dr. Whitis is retiring after 37 years of service in Texas schools, the last five as the London ISD Superintendent of Schools.

Update 3/11/24:

At the regular Board Meeting on Monday, March 11, 2024, the London ISD Board of Trustees selected JG Consulting to serve as the firm to lead the Superintendent search process. The London ISD Board is committed to a transparent process that encourages feedback from everyone in the community.

Update 3/18/24:

The London Community has two upcoming opportunities to provide feedback in the superintendent search process. 

  • The first opportunity to provide input on the process is to complete the London ISD Superintendent Search Community Survey. The survey is anonymous and administered by the search firm JG Consulting. 
  • The second opportunity is in-person at a scheduled Board of Trustees Workshop to be held on Monday, March 25, 2024 at 6 p.m. at London ISD Administration. Community members will be able to give their opinions on the qualities the Board of Trustees should prioritize in the superintendent search process. 

Update 3/22/24: 

The executive search career opportunity has opened on the JG Consulting Careers page. https://careers.jgconsulting.us/jobs/Careers  The initial Leadership Profile was posted pending additional feedback from the London Community from the Survey and In-Person Meeting.
