London ISD Ranks Among Top Three in Statewide UIL Lone Star Cup

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – London Independent School District tied for third place in the Texas University Interscholastic League (UIL) statewide Lone Star Cup. Results were made official on
July 1, 2021, with London High School edging out other 3A schools across the state, including Bishop High School, ranked thirteenth.

The Lone Star Cup honors Texas best overall athletic and academic programs and is open to all UIL participating high schools.
London High School is no stranger to the Lone Star cup with five rankings in the last five years, with 2021 the highest ranking in school history. "We are extremely excited about how well London performed in the Lone Star Cup," said Scott Frazier, London ISD Board of Trustees President. "It takes a community to make an award like this happen, and we are so proud," added Frazier.

Over the past five years, London ISD has gone from ranked twentieth with 34 points in 2015 to ranked third this year with 68 points. Schools receive points toward the Lone Star Cup for the district, regional, and state championships in various sports, marching band, robotics, academics, and other UIL activities. "The Lone Star Cup ranking is a result of the hard work put in every day to build excellence in the district," said Dr. Judi Whitis, London ISD Superintendent. "Everyone is committed to doing their best, and the Lone Star Cup recognizes the great things our students did both in academics and athletics, added Whitis.
